PM Modi Flags Off India’s First Hydrogen-Powered Train
Today, on Friday, July 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first hydrogen-powered train. Before the launch, PM Modi took to his X handle and wrote, “Today, the dream of India receiving its first hydrogen train is about to come true. This is a very significant day in the direction of a self-reliant India and sustainable development. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to everyone associated with this. Whatever work a person wishes to accomplish, be it great or small, that work, when done with full effort, is regarded as singularly heroic like a lion.”
Also, before the launch, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the preparations and interacted with the loco pilots and staff. PM Modi flagged off the train at Jind Railway Station in Haryana.

What Is The Route Of This Train?
After flagging off this hydrogen-powered train, PM Modi delivered a speech on Haryana’s development. We’re truly excited to see this train finally ready for travel. As per NDTV, it will run between Jind and Sonipat. The train will depart from Jind every day at 7:40 AM and reach Sonipat at 9:40 AM. On the return journey, it will depart from Sonipat at 10:40 AM and reach Jind at 1 PM.
For the first time in India, a train will use hydrogen fuel cell technology. It will use hydrogen to generate electricity instead of diesel, making travel cleaner and greener.
