Mobility in India isn’t just about getting from one end of a city to another anymore. It’s turning into an entire ecosystem where your daily auto ride and your next flight ticket might just come from the same app. In a move that signals how seriously it wants to play in that space, Rapido has jumped headfirst into the travel game. The Bengaluru-based company, best known for its bike taxis and autos buzzing through traffic in over 400 cities, has now rolled out flight, hotel, bus and train bookings right inside its app. So no detours and no app-hopping!

Here’s how it works: open Rapido, and right on the home screen is a shiny new “Travel” section. From there, you can book a flight or a hotel through Goibibo, hop on an intercity bus using redBus, or reserve a train seat via ConfirmTkt, which is part of the ixigo Group. The booking doesn’t toss you out to other apps; everything happens within Rapido’s interface, thanks to embedded integrations with its new partners. For a company built on short-distance rides, this is a deliberate leap into long-haul travel.

The timing is strategically aligned. Rapido’s strongest base isn’t just in metros, it’s in Tier II and Tier III cities, where millions of users already trust the platform for their everyday rides. These are exactly the markets where digital travel booking is still catching up, and Rapido’s existing network gives it a ready-made edge. The company isn’t shy about its ambitions either. It’s eyeing a footprint across 1,000 cities, and this expansion is a clear push to get there faster.

New ‘Travel’ Section On Rapido App

Of course, nothing draws users in like a good deal. Rapido is dangling some very real carrots here: up to ₹4,000 off flights and 55% off hotel stays through Goibibo, 20% off bus tickets via redBus (capped at ₹300), and zero service fees on train bookings through ConfirmTkt.

The company’s co-founder, Aravind Sanka, has made it clear that this isn’t just a side project but a way to make affordable travel more accessible. Over at MakeMyTrip, Rajesh Magow echoed that sentiment, pointing to how this partnership can pull more travellers from smaller towns into the digital travel economy. And Dinesh Kumar Kotha, CEO of ConfirmTkt, noted how this move opens up train bookings to a vast new audience that already lives inside Rapido’s ecosystem.

The timing also comes right after a big valuation spike. Rapido recently touched $2.3 billion after Swiggy sold its stake. So yes, there’s momentum, but this isn’t going to be a cakewalk. The company will now brush shoulders with travel heavyweights like MakeMyTrip, Yatra and ixigo itself.

It shows the opportunity for Rapido to quietly turn into the place where a user books their daily auto ride in the morning and a Diwali flight in the evening. A single tap for both commutes and cross-country plans, now that’s Rapido for you!
