Travel To China Made Easier As Air China Resumes Delhi–Beijing Direct Flights

After years of limited travel options between China and India, things are now improving. Several airlines are slowly restoring direct flight services between the two countries. Now, Air China has launched direct flights between Beijing and Delhi. Read on to know more!

Air China Starts Beijing–Delhi Flight Services

To improve travel between India and China, Air China has resumed its direct flights between Beijing and Delhi starting this Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The airline will use an Airbus A330 aircraft for these flights. The airline will operate this route three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. 

If you’re planning to take this flight, it will depart from Beijing at 3:15 PM and arrive in Delhi at 8:20 PM. According to Travel and Tour World, economy class fares are expected to start from around 3,570 yuan (approximately ₹49,091). The launch of new flights will boost business opportunities and tourism between the two countries.

Other Airlines Connecting China And India

Earlier, China Eastern Airlines restarted its direct flights between Kunming and Kolkata on April 18. As per Travel and Tour World, that route operates six times a week using Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline had also resumed its Shanghai to Delhi service earlier in November 2025.

Indian airline, IndiGo, has also started a daily non-stop flight between Kolkata and Shanghai on March 30. The airline is using Airbus A320neo aircraft. Before that, IndiGo had resumed the flight on the Kolkata–Guangzhou route and later launched the Delhi–Guangzhou service on November 10, 2025. 

IndiGo saw passenger occupancy between 68% and 85% on its India–China routes in April, with Delhi–Guangzhou and Kolkata–Guangzhou performing especially well. This clearly shows that people are willing to travel again on these routes.
