Tamil Nadu’s Madurai-Rameswaram Train Wins Praise For Its Cleanliness
Social media user R Gaurav (@republicofrailways) shared a video of the Madurai-to-Rameswaram passenger train in Tamil Nadu. The train was posted with text, “Difference b/w North & Souple people.” In the caption, he mentioned that people often expect cleanliness only on high-speed and premium trains, not on regular passenger services.
According to him, the seating areas were completely clean, with no garbage underneath the seats or anywhere in the coach. The floors were spotless as well. While train washrooms are usually a concern for many travellers, he found them surprisingly clean and well-maintained. The wash basin and sink areas were also neat and hygienic.
The train departs from Madurai at 6:30 PM and reaches Rameswaram at 10:30 PM. During the entire journey, the content creator said he did not notice any litter or unclean spots inside the train.

We still have a lot to improve. I hope we Indians stop comparing and arguing among ourselves and focus on fixing our issues.”
