In the video, posted by Simran Shivdasani (@simranshivdasani), we can see a rabbit suddenly appear in front of the car and keep running ahead. After driving for some time, the driver noticed something unusual—a white light appeared ahead. The driver then stopped and reversed, and the rabbit also stopped and turned back. Talking about the incident, Simran urged people to be careful while travelling at night.

According to The Free Press Journal, in parts of North India, especially Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, there is a belief in “Challava.” But what is it? Challava is an illusion or omen that appears during night travel to confuse or mislead people. It is believed that Challava can take the form of animals, lights, or even familiar figures.

Netizens Reaction To The Incident

The creator also confirmed that after returning home, her brother’s friend suffered from a fever for two days. The video went viral all over the internet, and many netizens shared their views in the comments section. One joked that rabbits might just react to car lights and suggested switching off headlights briefly so the animal can move aside. One user with the same experience wrote, “I have personally experienced this thing a few years back. Most of my friends did not believe in these things, and we continued travelling the same path by scaring him apart. Everything was fine with us till the time we reached our destination.”

While Challava remains part of local folklore, there is no scientific evidence supporting its existence. Many such incidents can be explained by natural animal behaviour or low visibility at night.
