A 116-year-old woman from Karnataka has won hearts online after allegedly trekking more than 3,000 steps to reach Tirupati for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara. Now, a video of her remarkable journey through the Seshachalam hills, accompanied by her family, has gone viral and even caught the attention of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. 116-Year-Old Woman From Karnataka Treks To Tirumati Temple

Sharing one of the videos on his official X account, CM Chandrababu Naidu praised the woman’s solid faith. He wrote, “Age is truly just a number when it comes to pure devotion! Absolutely awestruck by this 116-year-old grandmother from Karnataka who trekked all the way up to Tirumala on foot to have the divine darshan of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. Wonderful to see her family supporting her lifelong faith. Truly inspiring!”

The 116-year-old lady’s name was Navaneethamma, and her family stayed with her throughout the climb, helping her fulfil her long-held wish to offer prayers at the holy temple.

TTD Arranges Special VIP Darshan

As reported by the Hindustan Times, following the Chief Minister’s post, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B.R. Naidu ordered officials to locate the elderly devotee. Once found, Navaneethamma and her family were offered help along with a special VIP darshan at the temple.

Later, B.R. Naidu also revealed that a TTD officer arranged Vedic prayers for Navaneethamma at the Ranganayakula Mandapam. She was celebrated with a silk cloth, offered with sacred prasadam, and blessed by Vedic scholars. The EO also asked for her blessings during the ceremony. Expressing gratitude, Navaneethamma’s grandson thanked TTD and its chairman for fulfilling his grandmother’s lifelong wish and arranging darshan for the entire family.

B.R. Naidu also praised social media users and TTD vigilance officials for helping identify the elderly devotee quickly, saying the opportunity to fulfil her wish brought immense joy to everyone involved. According to TTD, the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati attracts around 60,000 to 80,000 devotees every day.
