Palak Muchhal Talks About Her Motivation Behind Starting The Initiative At The Age Of 6
Palak started doing social work at the age of six. Talking about the motivation behind starting this so early, she said that all of us have the feelings and emotions to help others; that is human nature. Talking further, she added, “But in life, we all get so busy that our priorities change, but as a kid, I was very sensitive; jab bhi main aise kisi person ko dekhti thi jo takleef mein hota tha, mujhe lagta tha ki mujhe ye takleef durr karni hi hain, it’s my responsibility.”
She also revealed an incident during the Kargil War, where her mother told her about the condition of people in need and how everyone was coming forward to donate for them. Recalling that she said, “I was six, and maine mumma ko kaha, mai dukaan-dukaan jaake paise collect karti hoon. And my mother was always very supportive. So I went to shops, and main shopkeeper se kehti thi ki, ‘Uncle, main apko ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon’ sunaungi; aap please kuch donate kijiye.’ And aise karte karte, ₹25,000 ekkathe hogaye.” She further added that that was the first time she realised that singing can not only be used as a career or hobby but can also be used as a mission to save lives.
