The Henley Passport Index is responsible for determining the global ranking of countries as per the travel freedom for its citizens. Indian Passport Claimed 80th Position On The Henley Passport Index 2023!
India’s passport has significantly improved in the most recent Henley Passport Index, moving up five positions from 2022 to take up position 80 internationally. 57 countries are now visa-free for those with Indian passports, with the option of obtaining a visa upon arrival in a number of them, including Indonesia, Thailand, Rwanda, Jamaica, and Sri Lanka.
Despite the progress, Indian nationals still need a visa to enter 177 nations, including well-known ones like China, Japan, Russia, the United States, and several states in the European Union. India is currently ranked alongside countries like Togo and Senegal.
India’s continuous attempts to improve diplomatic connections and make it easier for its citizens to travel internationally are reflected in this increased mobility. Indian travellers can anticipate discovering more places with ease as new developments are possible.

On the Henley Passport Index, Singapore surpassed Japan from first place for the first time in five years, moving the latter to third. Singaporeans now get visa-free access to 192 of the world’s 227 tourist hotspots. This makes their nationality the most valuable in the world.
