Embarking on a train journey in India during Navratri? You won’t need to carry food along as IRCTC is offering a special Navratri menu comprising sabudana tikki, sabudana khichdi, singhadha aloo paratha, paneer makhmali, sitaphal kheer, kofta curry and more. The dishes are prepared without adding onion and garlic. Also, only sendha namak is used in the preparation of the dishes.
The starting price of Navratri meals by IRCTC is just ₹99. The food will arrive directly at the seats. Passengers can place their orders via IRCTC e-catering website or by calling up on 1323. The passengers can avail of this service from 26 September to 5 October (from the first day of navaratri to Dusshera). IRCTC is accessing this service at 400 stations.

An important point to remember is that only IRCTC trains offering e-catering facilities will provide the Navratri special ‘Vrat Thali’.
- Firstly Choose the Outlet. The passengers need to fill in details such as their PNR number and then search for the eateries and restaurants close to their route.
- After you are done searching the place, select Complete the Order. In this step, passengers need to select their food, place the order, and complete the payment if ordering online. They can choose the cash-on-delivery as well.
- Follow just these 2 simple steps and you will receive your order delivered to your seat.

After Ramayana & Buddha Circuit, IRCTC To Launch Shirdi Special Tourist Trains
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched Ramayana, Buddha & Gurudwara circuit trains to boost spiritual tourism in India. Indian Railways now announces the launch of Shirdi special tourist trains for devotees of Sai Baba. Shirdi Yatra will commence on December 1 from Madurai. The special tour will take pilgrims across Shirdi, Pandharpur, Mantralayam and Shani Shingnapur. The 7-day package shall cost ₹7,060 per person. This includes GST and a train journey in sleeper class.

The New Coaches Have Charging Ports, Reading Lights And More; Special Arrangements For Differently Abled Passengers
The new coaches are equipped with charging points, reading lights and improved stairs for climbing to upper berths. Arrangements have been made for differently-abled travellers too. A toilet has been provided for those differently-abled. Wide doors will facilitate entry of travellers on wheelchairs into the coaches. For up to 300 kilometres, the fare is ₹440. For 4951 to 5000 kilometres, the fare is ₹3065.
There Are 11 Additional Berths In The New Economy Coach
The first LHB coach was rolled out from Kapurthala to Lucknow for the upcoming trial. With the increased number of berths, the new coach can carry around 72 to 83 people. The coach has many innovations like high-voltage electric switchgear placed below the under-frame. This feature enabled them to introduce 11 additional berths and increase passenger capacity.
