India’s First Bullet Train To Undergo Testing In 2027
On Tuesday, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared an update on India’s first bullet train. The body frame of the train is ready and is expected to hit the tracks for testing in May or June 2027. Vaishnaw shared this update during the ‘NaMo for Viksit Bharat’ event in Vadodara, which was also attended by PM Modi.
According to India Today, the bullet train will undergo two to four months of testing before its big launch. If all goes as planned, passengers could soon travel on this much-awaited train. Railway Minister also announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this high-speed train.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train To Open In Phases
The Union Railways Minister shared the update after two months of saying that work on India’s bullet train is moving quickly. The first operational section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor is expected to open between Surat and Bilimora in Gujarat next year. The remaining sections of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor will open in phases.
Once fully launched, this train will play a crucial role in reducing the travel time between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Apart from the bullet train update, Vaishnaw also spoke about another major railway project at the Vadodara event. He introduced the Dedicated Freight Corridor, which connects Dadri with JNPT.
