The Museum Is Home To Rocks That Are Over A Billion Years Old!
Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Jitender Singh inaugurated the rock museum in the CSIR museum on January 6, 2022. The museum is positioned on a sweeping garden and it displays nearly 46 rocks of various sizes and dramatic shapes. The rocks are equipped with descriptions too, unveiling details like their scientific and economic importance, the zones of the earth’s surface in which they are found and much more. The rocks are around 3.3 billion years to 55 million years old.

The Rocks Have Been Brought From Uttarakhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu And J&K
The rocks displayed in the museum have been brought from places like Uttarakhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Jammu and Kashmir. The museum aims to make the masses aware of the various intriguing and lesser-known facts about the rocks of India. The place will appeal to those who love history, architecture and beyond. It is one of the most prominent additions to the map of Hyderabad to attract, enlighten and educate the right kind of audience. According to reports, Singh said that CSIR is celebrating its 80th year now and around 75 science museums will come up in India in association with the Ministry of Culture.
