Days before the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22, PM Modi inaugurated the new Ayodhya airport. Ashutosh Shekhar, the captain for the inaugural flight from Delhi to Ayodhya, welcomed all the passengers on board.

He was grateful to IndiGo for providing him with the chance to oversee a trip of this magnitude. He wished everyone a pleasant and enjoyable journey. While ending his speech, he said, “Jai Shri Ram.” The passengers then followed it by chanting “Jai Shri Ram.”

A Representation Of Ram Temple

The construction of the first phase of the cutting-edge new Ayodhya Airport has cost more than ₹1,450 crore. The airport’s terminal building would be 6500 square metres in size and prepared to handle roughly 10 lakh passengers a year. The building’s front will have a representation of the architecture of the future Ram temple.

As to the official announcement, the terminal building’s interiors are adorned with murals, paintings, and local artwork that portrays the life of Lord Ram. Moreover, the Ayodhya airport terminal building has a number of environmentally friendly features, including an LED lighting system, rainwater harvesting, insulated roofing, fountain-filled landscaping, sewage and water treatment plants, solar power plants, and many more.

Airbus A320, ATR-72, and Bombardier private planes can land and take off on the airport’s 2,200-metre-long by 45-metre-wide runway in the first phase. In the meantime, the runway will be extended to 3,200 meters in the second phase, when the airport will open for international travel.
