On December 25, Thursday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal in Lucknow on the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Rashtriya Prerna Sthal In Lucknow

Lucknow now has a new landmark – the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, spread across 65 acres in Vasant Kunj Yojana. According to The New Indian Express, developed by the Lucknow Development Authority at a cost of ₹230 crore, this memorial celebrates the lives of some of India’s most influential leaders. Taking to his social media handle, Narendra Modi wrote, “Rashtra Prerna Sthal is an inspirational monument dedicated to the lives of our country’s great luminaries, their ideals, and their invaluable legacy. Today, on Good Governance Day, its inauguration in Lucknow brought an immense sense of pride and spiritual satisfaction.”

The complex features towering 65-foot bronze statues of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Syama Prasad Mookerjee, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The statues are placed in the middle, with fountains around them. 

At the memorial, you will also get to witness a lotus-shaped museum covering 98,000 square feet. Inside, visitors can explore exhibits that are dedicated to the lives, vision, and contributions of these popular leaders. Recognised as an “enduring source of national inspiration”, Rashtriya Prerna Sthal is not just a memorial; it’s a place to inspire future generations and let them meet the leaders who played a pivotal role in India’s history.

Prime Minister Attend The Inaugration

During the inauguration, people warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They waved the tricolour and chanted slogans in his honour. He was joined by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other senior leaders.

As per The New Indian Express, the Prime Minister also toured the museum within the memorial, exploring displays dedicated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Syama Prasad Mookerjee, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.  This place also has well-maintained gardens, an open-air theatre, multipurpose halls, helipads, a rally ground, a cafeteria, ceremonial gates, pathways, parking areas, and flag hoisting spots.
