The never-ending chaos between passengers and cab drivers is only increasing and looks like there is no end to it. Often passengers fall into unavoidable situations when they end up paying overcharging fares to cab drivers without any option or solution. Recently, a passenger had to pay ₹1,000 more than the average cab fare after he booked a cab outside the Bengaluru airport.
Bengaluru Man Was Asked To Pay More Than Double The Normal Fare
Taking to Reddit, u/Electrical_Pen_608 shared the incident where an airport cab overcharged him by about ₹1,000.
In the Reddit post, the user shared how he was in search of services other than Ola or Uber as he wanted to avoid regular rush. While looking for options, he found a cab outside the airport. His destination was near the Hosa Road signal on Hosur Road. After talking with the driver, the passenger got to know that the driver would go on this journey by meter costing him about ₹1,500.
Catching an Ola or Uber would have cost him approx ₹1,300 and as the difference was not much, he opted for the airport cab. He walked about 1.5 km to reach the Terminal 1 parking and sat inside the cab to reach his home. At the beginning of the journey, the driver started the meter of Blumeter (a mobile app) to see the cab fare.
He was in shock after reaching his destination. He was surprised to see ₹3,500 on the meter. It was ₹2,000 more than the mentioned approx fare. The driver later asked for ₹3,000. After some conversation and reasoning made by the passenger, he ended the journey by paying ₹2,500. Initially, the fare was ₹1,500 but he had to spend ₹1,000 more than the specified fare, that too after lots of questioning.
