International Yoga Day 2023: America to Germany, Here’s How The World Is Celebrating The Day

Today is June 21, and the world is celebrating International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. Many countries have been participating in celebrating this day for years, and this year is no different. People in different countries gathered for events organised across the nation in different locations and performed asanas with great fervour. International Yoga Day 2023 Celebrations Across The World

Every year, International yoga day is celebrated on June 21. 2023 is the ninth year ever since the United Nations recognised this day as International yoga day in 2014. The theme for this year’s yoga day celebration is ‘Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. It means yoga for the welfare of all as its ‘One World, One Family’. 

The largest Indian event was organised in South Germany to celebrate International Yoga day. The event not only promoted Ayurveda and yoga but also included promotion of Indian mangoes and millets. A large number of Indian participants participated in the Indian Food Festival hosted at the event. This event was the most diverse as well as the largest food festival one has witnessed in South Germany.

From London To Tokyo

International Yoga Day was celebrated in London at an event organised at Trafalgar Square. People gathered at the historic spot on time and celebrated the day, spreading positivity. 

One could hear the chants of the spiritual and powerful “Om” reverberating across Tokyo. This was because the city celebrated Yoga Day, with many people gathering at the spot and performing asanas with all their hearts. This event was organised by the Embassy of India in Tokyo at the Vivekananda Cultural Centre.

The High Commission of India celebrated International Yoga Day in the capital of Australia, Canberra. The sessions of Asanas, breathing, and meditation exercises were conducted by Art of Living and Yoga Australia. 

Talking about Mexico, a yoga event was organised in Miguel Hidalgo City. It was organised in a park, and many people attended the session. Mauricio Tabe, Mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, also joined people in this session and inspired them.
