It was recently announced that Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be the official host of the Expo 2030 World Fair! The results came out on Tuesday, November 28. Yes, the voting results were declared by 182 members of the Bureau International des Expositions, and it was showcased on the same day.

It’s official that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be the host of the Expo 2030 World Fair. Yes, according to a report by the Khaleej Times, it was revealed that Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh won the bid, leaving South Korea’s Bhutan and Italy’s Rome behind. Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that this is a five-yearly event and it attracts millions of visitors and billions of dollars in investment. So, coming back to the result, it was reached after the cities of Rome, Riyadh, and Busan became the top contenders to host the 2030 World Expo.

UAE Leaders Extend Congratulations

As it happens, the winning of Saudi Arabia is also being cheered by the leaders in the UAE. Taking time to appreciate and extend his congratulations, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed al Nahyan, the President of the UAE also posted to his official account on X (formerly Twitter). As it happens, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai also congratulated the leaders of Saudi Arabia on the microblogging platform. Not to mention, the Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid al Maktoum also wished the nation for its win.

This Will Be The Second Expo In The MENA Region

At this point, it should be revealed that the city of Riyadh won against the competitors by winning 119 votes from more than 160 member states of the Bureau International des Expositions in Paris. Not to mention, it also marked the end of the two-year campaign by the three countries. Yes, during this, they drew on the support of international athletes, actors, and pop stars to popularise their message. Did you know that this will be the first World Expo in the country? Yes, and it will also be the second in the Middle East and North Africa region after Expo 2020, which was held in Dubai.

KSA Celebrated The Win With A Firework Show In Riyadh

Celebrating the win, Riyadh celebrated the historic moment with a spectacular drone and firework show that left people spellbound. Yes, the Riyadh sky lit up with celebrations as the announcement was made by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister about the victory of the city in winning the bid. And the spectacular show enthralled the residents as they could be seen taking pictures and videos of the beautiful celebrations.
