Japan is known all around the world for so many different reasons. From being an amazing tourist destination to having the most fascinating technology, this city is on so many globetrotters’ bucket lists. Takanawa Gateway Station is one of the biggest examples of this country’s advanced technology. Launched in the year 2020, this station has everything from automated convenience stores to robots working here. Now, this place is all set to have some grand new additions, displaying more development.

Several Projects Are Coming Up At The Takanawa Gateway Station

There are many developmental projects and additions on the way for Tokyo’s Takanawa railway station, according to a report by Time Out. The nearby areas around this place will be expanded as per the plans. Takanawa Gateway City is going to be constructed close to the station. This project is falling under the Shinagawa Development Project of East Japan Railway. A total of 5 buildings are coming under this project. The buildings are:

  • Culture centre
  • Complex I
  • Complex II
  • Buildings for residents
  • The area around the Takanawa Gateway Station

It will take till 2025 to wrap up all the construction processes of these 5 buildings falling under the project.

What All Are Coming Up As Part Of This Redevelopment?

A brand-new indoor park is coming here. According to the plans, this station will be reconstructed into an indoor park. It will not be just like any regular park but will have proper stores, a ticket gate, and more amenities. It is all set to be the largest indoor park in the Japan capital. More parts of this project are:

  • A botanical rooftop garden spread over 2000 sq m is coming up at North Building in Complex I. This will be built on the 28th and 29th floors of the building overlooking the beautiful surroundings of Tokyo.
  • There will be a lavish JW Marriott Hotel at the South Building in Complex I.
  • The South Building will soon be the home to some conference rooms and offices too.
  • There will also be a Cultural Creation Building. This 6-storey building will have restaurants, underground floors, and a lot more.
