The Karnataka government has planned to construct four three-star hotels in popular tourist destinations like Hampi, Badami, Belur and Vijayapura. The government has decided to take up this initiative to revive the state’s tourism sector. Tourism minister CP Yogeeshwara has notified that the completion of the projects will take around 18 months. As per estimations, the cost of the overall project is nearly ₹83.97 crores. The projects at Hampi, Vijayapura, Badami and Belur would cost around ₹28.20 crores, ₹16.74 crores, ₹18.32 crores and ₹20.71 crores respectively. Read on to know more.

The Project Takes Into Account Tourism Potential Of Domestic And International Travellers

According to a Deccan Herald report, in a meeting with the officials of the tourism department, Yogeeshwara said, “The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has entered into an agreement with M/S Rites Ltd for availing technical assistance in the project. We will lay a foundation for the hotels’ work in April 2021 and it will be completed in 18 months.” He added, “The project has been conceived keeping in mind the tourists’ inflow and future tourism potential both the domestic and international travellers.” Meanwhile, here are 5 reasons to travel to Hampi for a honeymoon.

The Hotels Will Have 57 To 100 Rooms

A three-star government hotel will come up in Hampi with 75 to 100 rooms. The tourism department has identified a land of nearly 9.5 acres in Hampi for the construction. The hotels in Badami, Vijayapura and Belur are going to have 72, 57 and 75 rooms respectively. The department has also identified 6 acres of land near Belur’s Yagachi reservoir. Yogeeshwara stated, “The three star-hotel in Badami will come up near the famous Banashankari temple and on a 10-acres of area in Vijayapura with all modern facilities needed for travellers. The government will not compromise on the quality of construction.
