It is set to be the first urban ropeway project in India. The plan of the project consists of constructing 30 pillars. Among these, 10 are getting built on government land and 20 are on institutional or any private land, according to a report by Current Affairs 2024.

The inspiration behind the new infrastructural development is the theme of Lord Shiva. It is expected that Kashi Ropeway will not only represent the advanced and modern facilities but also display factors that make Varanasi such a holy and religious city.
