The itinerary starts with a shared cab pick-up from Sheikh Feroze Tours & Travels in Srinagar at 8:30 am for a 3-4 hour drive (approximately 83 km) to Gagangir, followed by a trek to Nichnai (11.6 km, 6.5 hours) with an altitude gain from 8,625 ft to 11,607 ft.

Day two involves a trek from Nichnai to Vishnusar via Nichnai Pass (13.5 km, 7 hours), with an altitude gain from 11,607 ft to 12,011 ft via the 13,229 ft pass. The trek difficulty is considered moderate, with a gradual ascent followed by a steeper climb to the pass, then a steep descent easing to a flat walk towards Vishnusar.

Day 4 To 6

The trek continues from Vishnusar to Gadsar via the challenging Gadsar Pass (16 km, 7.5 hours), with a significant altitude change (12,011 ft to 10,706 ft via 13,715 ft). The route from Vishnusar to Gadsar throws a moderate-to-difficult challenge at you.

Day four tackles the moderate trek from Gadsar to Satsar (11.5 km, 4.5 hours), gaining altitude (10,706 ft to 11,985 ft) with a steep initial climb followed by a level path. The final leg presents the most challenging section – the trek from Satsar to Gangabal via Zaj Pass (9 km, 6 hours). This difficult route involves alternating ascents, descents, and steep sections. There is an altitude loss from 11,985 ft to 11,486 ft via the 13,276 ft Zaj Pass.

The trek concludes with a journey from Gangabal down to Naranag (13 km, 6 hours). This moderate route involves a mix of ascents and descents before a steeper finale, leading to a significant drop in altitude from 11,486 ft to 7,800 ft. Be sure to factor in Naranag’s checkpost closure at 4 PM and plan your arrival accordingly.

Day eight serves as a buffer day. It offers an optional chance to relax or explore further at an additional cost of ₹1,800 per day with a 5% GST surcharge.
