Kashmir Welcomes Early Winter Thanks To Rains & Snowfall

According to recent reports,  Kashmir has already received its first snowfall of the year. There was snowfall in the higher-elevated valleys, including popular tourist destinations such as Sonamarg and Gulmarg. Experts added that many parts of Kashmir, including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Karnah,  also saw light rainfall during the intervening nights. Hence, this time Kashmir welcomed winter soon.

The early snowfall and rainfall will also lead to early winters in Kashmir. The weather department has recorded that daytime temperatures have dropped beyond the normal temperatures from the past few days. At the Gulmarg ski resort in north Kashmir, the daily maximum temperature dropped by 4.3 degrees Celcius. And in Srinagar, it was 22.8 degrees Celsius during the day and 7.8 degrees Celsius at night.

So, if you’re planning to visit Kashmir, here are some destinations you can check out to witness the stunning snowfall. Let it snow!

1. Visit Gulmarg During The Upcoming Diwali Long Weekend

If you’re visiting Kashmir this upcoming Diwali weekend, don’t forget to visit Gulmarg. According to reports Gulmarg had 2 inches of snowfall. Also, the divine beauty of Gulmarg attracts a lot of tourists. The hill station is perfect for skiing enthusiasts.

2. The Adventurous Location: Pahalgam

Adventure enthusiasts! Pahalgam, an adventurous location witnesses heavy snowfall every year.  In fact, Pahalgam was covered in snow this October, with temperatures dropping to 0.3 degrees Celsius.

3. This Winter Season Visit Sonamarg In Kashmir

Majestic snow-clad mountains, river rafting, zorbing, trekking, and many more adventure activities make Sonamarg a beautiful destination to visit in Kashmir. Especially during winter!

Sonamarg, Karnah, and Grez will remain open to tourists for the first time in 70 years. Additionally, the government plans to bring adventure sports and other activities to these areas to attract tourists. And new ski resorts are likely to be developed in the snow-covered areas.
