Best Time To Visit

Kaziranga National Park is open from 1st November to April 30th. The best time to visit is mid-February to mid-March given the pleasant weather conditions. Also, you might just be right in time for The Kaziranga Elephant festival. It is usually held in the month of February.

How To Reach?

Travelling to Kaziranga in itself is a thrilling episode. There are different modes of communication you can choose from.

By Air: The two nearest airports, The Guwahati International Airport and Jorhat Airport are located at a distance of 217 km and 97 km respectively. Once you land, you can hire a cab or taxi to visit the park.

By Train: Furkating is the closest railway station to the park. From the station, an 80 km cab or taxi ride will take you to the park.

By Road: There are smooth connecting roads to the Park from all major cities of Assam like Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Nagaon, Golaghat, Dimapur, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, etc. You can travel to any of these cities and hire a cab. There are public buses as well to help you reach the park conveniently.

Routes To Choose From

Safari Routes in Kaziranga are divided into four major ranges. The Western Range, Central Range, Burapahar Range, and Eastern Range. However, The Central range (Kohora zone) is highly recommended as it is the most convenient one. The visitors at Kaziranga can enjoy both the Elephant and the Jeep safari.

Tip- The Elephant Safari is always a better option to get a close sight of the wildlife.
