Indian Railways is gearing up to introduce the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train on the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru route. While Vande Bharat services are currently limited to daytime express trains, the sleeper version aims to combine speed, comfort, and convenience in one seamless overnight experience.
The train will come with modern sleeper coaches, fully air-conditioned compartments, and upgraded passenger amenities, as reported by TOI. Travellers can expect features like sensor-based lighting, silent cabins, cushioned berths, and onboard catering, making the overnight journey more relaxing than ever.

Trial Run And Coach Design Underway
The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai is building the sleeper train coaches, known for producing India’s advanced train models. Railway officials have nearly completed the design phase and plan to begin trial runs by July 2025.
