Kerala: A Must-Add to Your 2026 Travel List
Recently, the Rough Guide, a London-based travel company, revealed its 26 best places to travel in 2026. Among them, Kerala ranked 16th. The ranking is based on over 30,000 travel enquiries, showing where people around the world are dreaming of visiting next.
Kerala has something for everyone, from calm backwaters to green hills and spice gardens. You can start your day on a slow-moving rice boat, watching the morning mist over the canals, and end it with a cup of chai. This place is a unique mix of nature, culture, and slow-paced life, which has made it a favourite for travellers looking for a relaxed experience.

Activities To Do In Kerala
If you’re an activity lover, Kerala is your spot. You can watch longboats on the canals during the Onam festival in Alleppey or go on a guided hike in Parambikulam Tiger Reserve. Adventure lovers can try Kalaripayattu, Kerala’s traditional martial art, in Kozhikode, or stay in a treehouse in Thenmala’s forest and listen to hornbills. In northern Kerala, the Theyyam ritual is a must-see cultural experience. For a peaceful day, walk along Fort Kochi shore at sunset and watch the fishing nets.
The best time to visit Kerala in 2026 is from October to March, when the weather is dry and comfortable. April and May are hotter but great for temple festivals and local celebrations.
