In an effort to eliminate the COVID-19 virus from the nation, Indian states have accelerated their vaccination drives. The Centre has shared a list of five states that are registering vaccines at rates faster than many top foreign countries. These five nations are Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Reportedly, the US is registering an average of 8.07 lakh vaccine doses per day. Uttar Pradesh has surpassed this rate, by registering an average of around 11.73 lakh Covid-19 vaccines per day. This vaccination rate is higher than Mexico, Russia, France and Canada as well. Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana are registering an average of  4.80 lakh, 3.82 lakh, 3.71 lakh and 1.52 lakh doses per day.

Ladakh Becomes First UT In India To Inoculate All Citizens With First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine

The Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh becomes the first in the country to have inoculated all its residents as well as the guest population against COVID-19. The guest population includes migrant hotel workers, labourers, and Nepalese citizens who work in Ladakh. Ladakh has given priority to hotel workers and taxi/public transport drivers, labourers and handymen.

Ladakh Inoculated Its Entire Population With The First Dose

Despite its challenging terrain, extreme weather conditions, and isolated centres of population, Ladakh has managed to inoculate its population. The Union Territory manages to achieve this feat in less than three months since the third phase of COVID-19 vaccination was launched in the country. As per the official data, a total of 89,404 people of all eligible groups have been administered the first dose. Meanwhile, 60,936 people have also been administered the second dose.

Travellers Will Be Quarantined If Tested Positive In Ladakh

The Ladakh Tourism took to Twitter and wrote. “The change in guidelines isn’t expected to cause any inconvenience to passengers. Those travelling by road or via air must, in addition to a negative COVID-19 test report, undergo rapid antigen testing on arrival in the Union Territory”

Once you arrive in Ladakh, you will be placed in a nearby quarantine centre and allowed and allowed to enter Ladakh only if you test negative after the Rapid Antigen Test. If you test positive, you will be isolated in a nearby quarantine centre.

Covid Negative Test Report Mandatory To Enter Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand government will extend the Covid curfew till July 13. People visiting the state must register themselves on the smart city platform. Moreover, a negative Rapid Antigen test report or RT-PCR took within 72 hours is mandatory to enter Uttarakhand. However, restaurants and hotels will operate at 50 per cent capacity. Shops in tourist destinations like Nainital and Mussoorie will be open on Sunday.
