Lara Dutta Bhupathi enjoyed a delectable spread of dosas and filter coffee this Sunday with her loved ones at the newly-opened Uppu in Bandra, Mumbai. The actress, who never shies away from showing her foodie side, posted about her indulgent Sunday breakfast on Instagram, and if her words are anything to go by, this place is definitely her new favourite.

Posting a picture with her family, including husband Mahesh Bhupathi, and friends, she wrote in the caption, “I’m North Indian by birth, but TOTALLLY South Indian at ♥️!!! It makes my tummy and heart so happy to have @uppu.mumbai now in our backyard!!! Sunday morning breakfast done just right!!!”

A Newly-Opened Place For South Indian Food Lovers

Uppu in Bandra opened over the weekend, and it has attracted not just Lara Dutta Bhupathi but many foodies in Mumbai already. ‘Uppu’ means salt in various South Indian languages, and the menu here has dishes from various regions of Southern India. The restaurant is an ode to those old days when the founder spent every Sunday at Amba Bhavan in Matunga, having a plate of idlis, dosa, and filter coffee, surrounded by familiar faces and the comfort of delicious food.

This new place has a homely vibe, complete with rattan furnishing, comfortable seating, and soft lighting. Uppu will make you slow down and take notice, not just with its ambience but also with its food. So far, people have been raving about Ragi Idli, Masala Dosa, Bene Dosa, Paneer Ghee Roast, and filter coffee here.
