The birthplace of the Hindu God, Hanuman is believed to be in Anjaneri Hill in Nashik. This revered hill has a cave and an Anjani Mata temple. But to visit this place pilgrims needed to trek over three mountains perched at a height of over 4200 feet. Soon, trekkers and pilgrims will have respite. A ropeway will soon come up on Anjaneri Hills, the birthplace of Hanuman.

6-km Ropeway To Anjaneri Hills To Improve Connectivity For Pilgrims

According to a report from News18, Anjaneri Hills will soon witness a ropeway that will increase connectivity to the pilgrim site. The ropeway measuring 5.7 feet in length will reduce an arduous climb up three mountains to just a few minutes. The ambitious project is worth a whopping ₹377 crore. The Centre has commenced this project where the ropeway will span almost 6 km in length.

Over the next two years, the Centre will build this ropeway. It will connect the trekking point, Brahmagiri to Anjaneri Hills. This is a steep road which takes a whopping two to three hours to cover by walking. As per News18, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will bid for this project under the ‘Parvaratmala’ scheme of the government.

Similar Projects Across India

Earlier, News18 stated that the Centre has 18 ropeway projects in store across India, totalling 90 km. These ropeways will be ready by 2024. From a ropeway to Srinagar’s Shankaracharya temple, one to the Leh Palace, another to the Srisailam Jyotirlingas temple to the one connecting Gwalior fort. The Centre aims to increase connectivity to pilgrims and popular tourist sites.

Also, folks can soon embark on a cable car ride between Palani to Tamil Nadu’s iconic Kodaikanal hill station. A 7-km ropeway will also come up from Karnataa’s coastal town Udupi to the chilly Kodachadri hills. While trekkers might feel that these ropeways will impact the thrill of walking up to the mountains and these sight-seeing spots But actually, it improves connectivity for those wanting to visit the spots in their own comfort and leisure.
