UP Diwas, also known as Uttar Pradesh Diwas or Uttar Pradesh Day, is celebrated on January 24 every year. It is a three-day celebration. It commemorates the establishment of India’s heartland, Uttar Pradesh.On this day in 1950, the erstwhile United Provinces were renamed Uttar Pradesh. Governor Ram Naik proposed celebrating this day in 2017. The three-day cultural celebration of UP Diwas begins in Lucknow today.
UP Diwas: A Three-Day Celebration In Lucknow
UP Diwas is organised by the department of culture, the department of information and public relations, and the UP directorate of tourism. The celebrations will take place in Awadh Shilpgram in Lucknow, where people will get to witness the cultural beauty of different states as well. Folk performances from Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh will be performed on January 24 and 25.
Kanhaiya Mittal of Chandigarh will perform spiritual songs for the audience on Tuesday. A kavi sammelan on various regional dialects, including Awadhi, Brij, Bundeli, Bhojpuri, Khadi Boli, and Hindi, as well as a Tridhara Bhakti performance by the Rising Malang Band, will follow. On Wednesday, symposiums will be held on the International Millets Year, micro, small, and artisanal enterprises, khadi and gramodyog, the one trillion dollar economy, the new tourism policy, and agro, rural, and eco-tourism.

Achievers from Various Fields Will Be Honored
The state government will honour winners in a variety of sectors. Ten youths in individual categories and six in group categories will receive the Vivekananda Youth Awards for 2021–2022 from State Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. 15 other Commonwealth Games medal winners from 2022 will also be honoured at the ceremony. This will include competitors in the sports of judo, cricket, weightlifting, hockey, triathlon, and athletics. On that day, among other honours, the coveted Laxman and Laxmibai awards will be presented.
A short film based on the forts of Bundelkhand will also be shown as a part of this cultural celebration. Actor-MP Dinesh Lal, ‘Nirahua’ will be a part of the celebrations of UP diwas. where will be done. There will be a handicraft exhibition held on all three days. On the last day, revered singer Kailash Kher will enchant everyone with his soulful voice.
