Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its restrictions, the world has witnessed many unique weddings since last year.  From getting engaged over video calls, exchanging vows via windows, walking the pheras in PPE suits to letting guests attend functions over zoom calls, many offbeat things have taken place in the pandemic weddings. Now, to avoid the COViD-19 restrictions, a Madurai couple took their wedding a notch higher. They tied their knot inside an aeroplane, in the presence of their loved ones. Their wedding took place exactly when the aircraft flew over the sacred Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple.

Wedding In The Air: Couple Books Entire Flight To Tie Knot

Rakesh and Dakshina from Madurai booked an entire SpiceJet flight for two hours to get married in the sky in the presence of 161 relatives. They took this decision to avoid the ongoing wedding restrictions in Tamil Nadu. Their video has also gone viral on social media and their exceptional wedding is already making headlines. Journalist Dhontu Ramesh uploaded their video on Twitter and stated, “Rakesh-Dakshina from Madurai, who rented a plane for two hours and got married in the wedding sky. The Twitter video has received mixed reactions from the netizens. Some have appreciated their ‘wedding in the air’ concept. Some others have expressed their concerns about social distancing not being maintained in the flight. In one day, the video has received over 3.2K views.
