US Woman Gets Married Through Window After Testing COVID-19 Positive

We’ve heard about virtual weddings, and also marriages taking place with a limited number of guests amid the coronavirus pandemic. But this bride from California took her wedding a notch higher and got married to her beau through the window after testing positive for coronavirus. Lauren Jimenez had tested positive for the virus three days before her marriage with Patrick Delgado. So they exchanged vows through the window, holding two sides of a long rope. Lauren sat at the second-storey window of a house and Patrick was standing on the ground. And holding the rope, from the window, Lauren uttered, “I do.” Photographer Jessica Jackson has shared their pictures on social media which are already winning the hearts of many people. A British-Indian couple had also hosted the UK’s first drive-in wedding.

After testing COVID-19 positive, Californian bride, Lauren Jimenez, got married to her love Patrick Delgado in a socially-distanced way, from the window. They held the two sides of a ribbon while exchanging vows as if they were holding hands. Lauren and Patrick have been together since the last four years. They got engaged in 2019 and had planned a grand wedding in 2020. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had to cancel their marriage plans thrice. And four days before the expiry of their marriage license, Lauren ended up testing positive for coronavirus. So, they decided to get married in a unique way through the window. The ceremony was attended by 10 guests and some others watched it from the cars. A UK couple had also exchanged onion rings after their wedding got cancelled amid coronavirus.

Marrying The Love Of Life, While Quarantining

Photographer Jessica Jackson, who has uploaded several pictures and a video of the ceremony, stated in her Instagram post, “What do you do if you test positive three days before your wedding, but everyone else around you is negative? Let’s up the stakes: your marriage license expires on your wedding day and the county is closed so you don’t know when you’ll be able to get married! The only reasonable answer to channel all those years of watching the best Disney princess movie…Tangled…and create a beautiful ceremony where you still get to marry the love of your life, while quarantining.”

“Yesterday was an actual COVID wedding and we had an actual COVID bride, but through the very extreme and rough circumstances, Lauren and Patrick still exchanged vows, rings, and an undying love for one another! I seriously love you guys so much and your positive attitude to make the best out of every situation inspires me!”, she added.
