Maharashtra Budget 2023 was announced by state finance minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday. The budget focused on various important aspects of the state and its development. From coming up with women centric schemes to schemes for the welfare of the farmers, the budget has it all. Here is everything you need to know about the plans chalked up for Maharashtra’s tourism.

Maharashtra Budget 2023: Maharashtra Tourism

The state of Maharashtra attracts a huge number of tourists, not only from other states but from other countries as well. In 2021, it received the second-highest number of international visitors of any Indian state and the fifth-highest number of domestic visitors. The state is blessed with abundant beauty of nature, with thick forests and lovely valleys. At the same time, it has a rich cultural heritage and ancient caves.

Here are the key points related to tourism:

1. About 500 youths from every district will be given training for the water tourism, agriculture tourism, caravan tourism, adventure tourism, and hospitality sectors.

2. Sant Dnyaneshwar Park in Paithan will be built in the same manner as Nagpur Futala Lake.

3. 10 tourist spots will have tent cities set up for tourists.

4. In order to promote tourism, an annual festival calendar has been prepared. The festivals include Veer Bal Diwas Mahotsav of Nanded,  Shivjanmotsav of Shivneri, Bhagwan Birsa Munda Mahotsav of Jawahar, and more.

Museums, Memorials And More

1. Shivaji Maharaj’s life narrative will be displayed in public parks with audio-visual media capabilities that will be built in Mumbai, Amravati, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and Nagpur.

2. On Shivneri Fort, a museum honouring the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be built.

3. 50 crore has been allotted for building Dyanjyoti Savitri Bai Phule’s national memorial in Bhide Wada, Pune.

4. 351 crore allotted for the Balasaheb Thackeray memorial.
