Maharashtra Reports 23,000 COVID Cases In 24 Hours; Highest Daily Spike This Year

Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, the government was forced to enforce lockdowns and night curfews. BMC has also sealed buildings but looks like despite all the efforts, the Maharashtra government is not being able to contain the spread. In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra reported over 23,000 new cases of coronavirus, which is the highest single-day infection count so far in 2021.

Nagpur Reported The Highest Number Of Cases

While the daily total number of cases started falling gradually from September last year, the state reported more than one lakh cases within a span of merely a week. The state started witnessing an upward trend from mid-February this year. Nagpur city reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases followed by Pune and Mumbai.
