Maharashtra Government Introduces New COVID Guidelines For Malls & Cinema; Offices To Operate With 50% Attendance

With the steep rise of COVID-19 cases, the Maharashtra government has been forced to impose lockdowns and night curfews. The BMC has also sealed several buildings to contain the spread of the disease. However, despite several warnings, people have been flouting rules. Alarmed with the rising COVID-19 cases and the behaviour of the people, the state government has reintroduced stringent rules in shopping malls, offices, and cinema halls till March 31.

Offices Should Work With 50% Attendance

According to the new rules, all the offices except for health and other essential services should work with 50% attendance. In case of any violations, the government can shut down the office. Apart from that, people who ought to be in quarantine will be stamped. The government will also put up a board for 14 days at their buildings to indicate the presence of active patients. Restaurants And Multiplexes Will Be Allowed To Operate In 50% Capacity

Restaurants and multiplexes will also be allowed to operate in 50% capacity. No one will be allowed to enter shopping malls, restaurants, and multiplexes without wearing masks. Sanitisers and temperature measuring devices have been made compulsory at these places. The government is appointing adequate manpower to check on people violating the rules like wearing masks and physical distancing.

Religious Places Should Restrict People

Religious spaces have also been asked to restrict people depending on the space available. Besides, the government is not allowing any social, cultural, and political gathering. A maximum of 50 people will be allowed to gather for weddings and funerals.
