On the occasion of Guru Purnima, one of the most important festivals for devotees of Sai Baba, a man from Andhra Pradesh recently offered a gold crown to the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple. The offering, worth ₹1.03 crore, is definitely a sign of true devotion to Sai Baba. Here’s more about it.

Devotee Offers Gold Crown To Shirdi Sai Baba Temple 


The Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Maharashtra is currently celebrating the Guru Purnima festival. During these celebrations, the temple witnesses lakhs of devotees who come forward not just to offer prayers but also gifts to Sai Baba. One such devotee, Malladi Srinivasa Rao from Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, recently offered a gold crown worth ₹1.03 crore. An X post by @DDNewsGujarati shows Guru Purnima celebrations at the temple. 

The crown, made with 642 grams of gold, was presented as Guru Dakshina on the opening day of the Guru Purnima celebrations at the temple. According to India Today, the crown features depictions of the Dashavatara, the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu, which makes it really unique.

An Expression Of Gratitude & Devotion 

Malladi Srinivasa Rao shared with India Today that the gold crown was inspired by his belief that Sai Baba embodies the Navagraha, the nine celestial deities in Hindu tradition. He also described the offering as his way of showing gratitude and devotion to Sai Baba.

You would like to know that he visits the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple several times a year and often contributes to the temple trust’s charitable initiatives. He is also involved in donations for the Sai Baba Hospital and other facilities for devotees.

Temple Trust CEO Goraksha Gadilkar thanked the devotee for the donation. He also mentioned that Guru Purnima is a special occasion. During the festivities, many devotees come forward to offer Guru Dakshina to Sai Baba, who is considered a Guru or a spiritual guide by many.
