From London to Paris to Greece, the list of places to explore there is endless and all these bustling locations welcome lakhs of visitors every year. Travelling to Europe is an expensive affair, especially the costly flight tickets. Recently, there has been endless news about Schengen visa refusal. This became a reason for a man losing lakhs recently.

The summer season is a peak time to travel to Europe. Travel enthusiasts from different parts of the world head to different alluring nations of this continent to enjoy their picturesque summer holidays. In a time when people are in a rush to get their Schengen visas to fly to their desired destinations, we are coming across so many incidents, news, and updates about visa delays and refusals as well.

Mayank Sharma also faced a similar experience while planning a holiday to Greece. The Head of the UBL Channel Business got the disheartening news of his Schengen visa’s refusal 2 days after the date of his scheduled flight tickets. Not only did his money spent on flight tickets get wasted but his visa to travel to Greece was denied as well. Taking to the X post, he shared about losing ₹3.5 lakhs on hotel booking and flight tickets to reach Greece.

His X post has grabbed everyone’s attention. There are already more than 240K views with many reactions from Netizens. In one of the many questions asked by other X users, he responded that this was his first time applying for a Schengen visa. Mayank Sharma also stated in another reply that the visa application was processed in over a month.

What Might Be The Reason For The Denial?

Mr. Sharma shared that a letter in a standard format stated that they were unsure whether he would return. Even after working as the Business Head @Unity SFB and having a savings account with a 7-figure balance, he received a Schengen visa refusal. Though he felt his job and savings account balance were sufficient to get the visa and fly to Greece, the reality was sadly the exact opposite.

He also added about his decision to not travel to Europe in the foreseeable future.
