An Air Europa flight flying from Madrid to Uruguay faced terrible turbulence which left thirty passengers injured and the flight dishevelled. After facing strong turbulence, the flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Brazil. From a man getting stuck in the overhead cabin to blood stains seen on the seats post-landing, this flight was a nightmare for its passengers and crew. Here’s more to it.

Uruguay-Bound Air Europa Flight Lands In Brazil Due To Severe Turbulence

Videos and pictures of the turbulence-hit Air Europa Madrid-Uruguay have gone viral on social media. Passengers captured the utter mayhem that took place on that Spanish airline. Air Europa posted on X that their flight X045 bound for Montevideo was diverted to the Natal Airport in Brazil due to strong turbulence. While the plane landed normally and no fatalities were reported around thirty passengers sustained different types of injuries.

This untoward incident which took place on Monday, threw passengers off their seats and left one man stuck in an overhead cabin. On landing at Brazil and while deboarding the aircraft, passengers filmed videos of the chaos that ensued on the flight. One video showed a man’s feet jutting out of the overhead bin. Some passengers were seen huddling together and helping him get down.

Blood Stains On Seat, Man Stuck In Overhead Cabin & Passengers Injured

Other clips show ceiling panels torn off, destroyed seats, and oxygen masks dangling from the overhead bin of the flight that carried 325 passengers. One of the videos showed a seat smeared with blood stains which was truly alarming. Air Europa stated in a statement that the flight landed without any issues. However, some passengers were being treated for injuries of varying degrees.

Those who weren’t wearing seatbelts during the time of the turbulence were flung off their seats. Meanwhile, Air Europa stated that a new flight will reach Madrid to ferry passengers who didn’t wish to take a bus ride back to Uruguay.
