Be it Ola, Uber, or Rapido, city folks experience this similar scenario every day. A Kolkata man recently raised his concern against such cab drivers and shared his experiences while booking a ride.

Tagging Ola Cars, Uber, and Rapido on his post, he shared how surprised he was after seeing the cab drivers’ audacity. While talking with these drivers, some of the excuses that Sushobhan has heard before are:

  • distance is a lot, won’t go
  • fare is not much, won’t go
  • will go but you have to give more ₹100/150
  • cancel the ride as I won’t get the return trip
  • Ola/ Uber/ Rapido will take 35-40% money as a commission

Being fed up with such problems, Sushobhan asked the cab aggregators to add options such as Driver charged 1.5X/2X more money and Cancel the trip and go offline and you pay me whatever the bill is.

Sushobhan also shared how he had to waste over half an hour just to listen to the cab drivers ranting about not going to pick up or increasing the fare. He also asked for a solution to such incidents when passengers need to negotiate with drivers and waste their time.

Do you also face such issues while booking a cab? Have you ever experienced something like this in your city?
