Mark Your Calendars! Dubai Fountain Announces Its Last Show Before Closing Down For Restoration

Dubai’s most dazzling water spectacle is about to take a well-deserved break. The Dubai Fountain, a Downtown Dubai landmark, will bid farewell—temporarily—on April 19 as it gears up for a massive five-month transformation. But before the curtains (or rather, water jets) close, visitors will have one last chance to witness its breathtaking performance.

Developers plan to introduce cutting-edge technology, enhanced choreography, and an upgraded sound and lighting system, ensuring that when it reopens in October, it will be more spectacular than ever.

But don’t worry—while the fountain takes a break, Burj Lake’s surrounding areas, The Dubai Mall, and Burj Khalifa will remain accessible. So, even if the fountain’s music takes a temporary pause, Downtown Dubai’s vibrancy will continue.

Since its grand debut in 2009, the Dubai Fountain has been a crowd-puller, mesmerizing visitors with its synchronised water-dance performances. Developed by Emaar and designed by Wet Design (the same masterminds behind Las Vegas’ Bellagio Fountains), it has set records as the world’s largest choreographed fountain.

With 6,600 lights, 25 colour projectors, and water jets soaring up to 152 metres, this fountain is an absolute marvel. Over the years, it has danced to a diverse mix of musical legends—Adele, Pavarotti, Lionel Richie, Edith Piaf, and even K-pop sensation EXO—ensuring every visitor found a tune to sway to.
