The Nehru Trophy Boat Race is one of the most important snake boat races in Kerala. It is held on the second Saturday of August every year and draws in a massive crowd. However, this year the race will be held on September 4, 2022 in Punnamada Lake, Alappuzha.

Payippad Boat Race

During the race, the spectators witness a grand procession of country boats carrying the Guru’s portrait from Sree Kumaramangalam Temple to Kokkathodu, the venue of the race. This year, the race will be held on September 10, in Kumarakom, Kottayam district.
