MasterChef Australia S13 contestant Depinder Chhibber has a massive fan base in Australia, India and many other countries across the world. The pharmacist cum chef’s passion for food, impeccable baking skills and deep knowledge of Indian cuisine have won the hearts of many foodies. Recently, Depinder Chhibber had an Ask Me Anything (AMA) sesh on Instagram where she revealed her favourite dishes, fond memories in the MasterChef kitchen and more.

MasterChef Australia’s Depinder Chhibber’s All-Time Fav Dish Is Biryani

During the AMA session on Instagram on February 4, Depinder Chhibber answered many question thrown upon her by her loyal fans. One of which asked the MasterChef wizard her favourite food memory. To this, Depinder Chhibber named three fond memories. First, relishing Meethe Chawal (sweet rice) prepared by her Dadi on Sundays. Second, Poori Chole with Halwa, which she enjoyed in her childhood. The third was gobbling Cassata Ice Cream at India Gate in Delhi.

One fan enquired about her favourite Aussie food. She said it’s barbeques. Then, of course, there was a pertinent question about her favourite food. To this, the chef replied — biryani, biryani and biryani. When asked about her favourite Gujarati food, Depinder Chhibber shared a delicious plate filled with dhoklas, khandvi, jalebi, patra and white dhokla. Her answer? Nashta! From the state of Tamil Nadu, she can have Madras Fish Curry any day apart from rasam, which she calls her comfort food.

She Revealed Fond Memories With The Late Jock Zonfrillo

What about Depinder’s favourite Indian mithai or sweet? It’s Gujiya! It isn’t a surprise as MasterChef Australia fans would know that she prepared this sweet for the judges during her successful stint in Season 13. She was also asked about her favourite Bengali dish which she said was mishti doi. Moreover, Depinder Chhibber said she is lucky to have many Bengali friends who cook mouth-watering Bengali meals for her.

Many wanted to know her bond with the late MasterChef Australia judge, Jock Zonfrillo. She said, “Amazing! He loved eating Indian food and I loved cooking it”. And how did she feel about participating in a MasterChef India episode? “I was grateful and proud”, she says. When asked about her future plans, Depinder Chhibber said that currently she is on maternity leave. But hopes to open her restaurant in the future. Post her maternity leave, the chef looks forward to hosting more pop-ups.
