Honourable Mauritius President Prithvirajsing Roopun is in Kolkata recently. He is here on a two-day visit. He flew to the City of Joy with his wife. Travelling to Kolkata is just incomplete without visiting the divine Dakshineshwar Temple and the Mauritius President also explored the religious place and offered prayers to Maa Kali. Along with Dakshineshwar Temple, he also visited a few more places. Let’s take a look at what Mauritius President’s first day in Kolkata looked like!

The President was accompanied by his wife while visiting new places in and around the City of Joy. On 15 May, they visited the Dakshineshwar Temple dedicated to Maa Kali. Swapan Dasgupta also joined the President and his wife to visit the devotional temple on Monday. If you have been to Dakshineshwar Temple, you would know that the temple is standing in a huge space. They explored the scenic surroundings and premises of the temple and stayed there for around 45 minutes, according to a report by The Print.

Along with walking around the temple, Prithvirajsing Roopun also explored the Shiva Temple, Radha Krishna Temple, and the famous Ganga Ghat. His Kolkata itinerary also included Belur Math as well. Belur Math is located just a few kilometres away from Dakhsineshwar Temple and it takes only about 10-15 minutes to reach there.

The temple was built by Rani Rashmoni long back in the year 1855. A trip to Kolkata can never be complete without visiting this iconic religious place. Lakhs of devotees from different corners visit this temple all around the year. The temple stays extremely crowded during auspicious occasions. The beautiful architecture here is an amazing sight to witness. Praying to Maa Kali and Lord Shiva, walking around the Ghat, and enjoying the beauty is such a beautiful experience.
