The pandemic has badly hit the F&B industry. It not only caused restaurants to shut down but also caused an extreme shortage of labour. The long working hours and minimum wages are affecting the new recruitments in fast food outlets, especially in the US. To draw the attention of new recruits, McDonald’s in Illinois is offering a free iPhone to new hires if they stick on for six months at the outlet. Twitter cannot keep its calm on this unbelievable offering.
Employees Must Stick On For Six Months To Get An iPhone
A poster in a McDonald’s outlet read ‘NOW HIRING, FREE iPhone’. The poster also read ‘After 6 months employment & meet employment criteria.’ Twitter user @brogawd_ shared the picture of the poster on social media and the tweet grabbed eyeballs instantly.

McDonald’s Had Offered Money To Candidates For Just Appearing In Interview
While some were intrigued with the new bonus announcement, some said McDonald’s should pay better wages to its employees instead of an iPhone. Others said they were suspicious of the new offer. It turns out this is not the first time that McDonald’s in the US has tried to attract new recruits. In April 2021, a McDonald’s outlet in Florida was offering 50 USD to candidates for just showing up for the interview. Take a look at the image here:
