Ever since its announcement, Prabhas’ upcoming sci-fi extravaganza, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, has been a burning topic of conversation amongst cinephiles nationwide. With just a month to go until release, this sci-fi epic is burning up anticipation as one of the year’s hottest films. Anand Mahindra took to the social media platform X (Formerly, Twitter) to express how proud he was about his team’s contribution to the innovative project.

A Futuristic Bujji Takes Centre Stage

While details about the plot are still under wraps, the film has generated immense buzz for its futuristic setting and its star-studded cast. It includes Prabhas alongside Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan. But the hype isn’t limited just to the story and actors. The film’s recently unveiled vehicle, named “Bujji,” has captured the imagination of fans and car enthusiasts alike.

Described as a futuristic marvel, Bujji boasts some truly impressive specifications. Towering nearly to the presenter’s shoulders with its massive front wheels, the car measures a staggering 6075 mm in length, 3380 mm in width, and 2186 mm in height. The wheels themselves are a marvel of engineering – hubless, with functional outer rims supported by bearings. The sleek design is accentuated by a canopy, and the tyres are specially crafted by CEAT.

Bringing The Kalki Vehicle To Life

This futuristic vision wasn’t brought to life by a single entity. The impressive Bujji is a collaborative effort between Mahindra and Jayem Motors, a Coimbatore-based company. Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai played a crucial role in realising the director’s vision. It simulated the powertrain configuration, architecture, and performance of this unique vehicle.

The real magic, however, lies in the power source. Mahindra equips Bujji with two powerful electric motors to propel the rear spherical wheel, ditching conventional fueling methods. Finally, Jayem Automotives served as the assembly force, bringing all the elements together to create this awe-inspiring cinematic companion.
