Mexican Confectioner Makes The World’s Largest Marshmallow & It’s Heavier Than A Bear!

Be it on top of a cupcake or in a cup of hot chocolate, marshmallows are just dreamy. These sugary clouds are sweet treats that can turn any frown upside down. When such tiny marshmallows can bring huge amounts of happiness, imagine what a huge marshmallow will do. Well, a confectionary in Mexico took it upon themselves to make the world’s largest marshmallow, and their efforts resulted in a 648.40 kg marshmallow.

An adult bear weighs just over 600 kg, and this huge treat is even heavier. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it really happened when Dulces Mazapán de la Rosa in Mexico, a candy manufacturer, made this marshmallow. This great treat was unveiled as part of the 200th-anniversary celebrations for the Mexican state of Jalisco. Carlos Tapia, an official adjudicator, spent two days on the scene, supervising the attempt and confirming the record. On April 26, he conducted a review of the enormous marshmallow’s preparation. This review happened in the presence of professionals and sanitary officials. Finally, after two days, the confection was formally unmolded and weighed. Ultimately, this new record was established and registered.

Due to the huge size of the large mould, it took 113 minutes to fill it with the marshmallow mixture. It also required a little over 48 hours to rest before Guinness World Records could formally review the achievement. To conduct the entire process, it required a team of about 100 people and 53 hours of preparation. Finally, after great and long efforts, this enormous marshmallow was created.

Following the attempt, the world-record-breaking treat was given away to event attendees and to the general public for consumption. The previous record set by Berkhamsted School (UK) in Berkhamsted, UK was 93.10 kg (205.25 lb), which they accomplished in October 2019. Evidently, Dulces Mazapán de la Rosa broke the record by a huge margin. Among the Guinness World Records family, this Mexican confectioner is not an entirely new addition. In Guadalajara, Mexico, the business won the Guinness World Records title for the biggest peanut mazapán confection in 2018.

We just can’t stop wondering how amazing that marshmallow must have been!
