The government of Mexico has received severe criticism for its underwhelming response to the deadly virus that has infected more than 179,000 people and led to more than 7000 deaths worldwide. Mexico itself has witnessed around 82 cases of Covid-19 without deaths, but experts feel this number could be much higher. Health experts have also warned Mexico about the consequences of their laid back approach to the virus, as the health system is severely underfunded and overstretched. When it comes to the annual music festival, two attendees Karina and Saúl attended the music festival as they came because the tickets cost them $228(₹16,928). There were no refunds and they couldn’t get sufficient money if they sold their tickets either. Saúl stated that it was disrespectful to the public that the organizers didn’t cancel the music festival and put everyone at risk. Well, we hope that Mexico takes a stronger stand towards combating this virus and such situations won’t be repeated again.
