1. Dubai Metro Overhauls 262 Escalators

Dubai Road & Transport Authority has completed an important upgrade of escalators. This is across the Dubai Metro network, and so far 262 escalators have been refurbished. It represents about 63% of all the escalators across Dubai Metro stations.
2. Oman Mentions No Oil Spill
Authorities in Oman have confirmed that there was no oil spill, which occurred after the vessel ran aground. This happened near the Hallaniyat Islands Marine Buffer Zone. After inspections of the environmentally protected area, the authorities confirmed that there was no oil spill. It was mentioned that the authority is monitoring the incident after the vessel was grounded near Al Qibliyah Island.
3. Parkin To Launch Ticketless Parking At Al Ghurair Centre
Parkin Company PJSC will be launching ticketless parking at Al Ghurair Centre. The new system will use AI-powered number plate recognition technology. Not to mention, it will remove the need for paper tickets and will speed up entry and exit. Moreover, visitors will get three hours of free parking, which will apply between Monday and Saturday.
4. Air India Express Restores Its India-GCC Network
Air India Express has finally restored its India-GCC network. This is ahead of the summer travel rush, and with this restoration, they re-launched services to Kuwait and Salalah. The airline has mentioned how flights between Kozhikode and Salalah resumed on July 2nd.
5. Visitors Drop By Hira Cultural District
A growing influx of visitors is dropping by Hira Cultural District in Makkah. The district is seeing a growing influx of domestic and international visitors. It has cemented its status as one of the most prominent cultural and educational destinations.
6. Dubai To Host 25th Edition Of Airport Show

Dates for the 25th edition of Airport Show are now out. Dubai will be hosting the aviation event at the Dubai World Centre. This will be from October 12th to 14th and will see over 150 exhibitors. These will be from 30 countries.
7. Emirates At Third Daily Flight To Cape Town
Emirates has announced that it will be launching third daily flights to Cape Town. For this, they are introducing the Emirates A350 to South Africa. The flight landed at Cape Town International Airport at 6:05 PM on July 2nd, and first arrival of flight EK778.
8. SalamAir To Launch First Direct Scheduled Flights To Medan
SalamAir, which is a low-cost carrier of Oman, will be launching its first direct scheduled flights to Medan. This begins on July 3rd, and it will be from Muscat International Airport. The flight operations will be taking place twice a week on their Airbus A320neo.

9. Flyadeal Summer Routes Go Live
Flyadeal Summer Routes for 2026 have now gone live. Yes, the airline has announced its flights to new destinations: Milan and Prague. This is the first time the low-fare carrier has served Italy through Milan. The summer routes also see the return of seasonal destinations of Trabzon, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Sharm El Sheikh.
