Sharjah Launches Al Qawasim Digital Platform To Preserve Family History And Lineage

The new Al Qawasim app and digital platform have been initiated by Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi. It is a big move towards safeguarding the Gulf heritage in the digital era. The app and platform are committed to documenting the history and lineage of the Al Qawasim family. It was launched at the Dr Sultan Al Qasimi Centre, where high-profile members of the ruling family of Sharjah, including Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi and Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, were in attendance.

Sharjah Unveils The Al Qawasim Digital Platform To Preserve Family History

The new platform brings hundreds of years of Al Qawasim family history to one modern digital area. Having a visual interface, which is easy to use, users will be able to view an interactive family tree, search for people, view how family members are related to one another, and move conveniently between generations.

Everyone in the family tree is also verified through the system with digital lineage certificates. These certificates are based on accepted historical and scientific literature, and this renders the records on the platform more credible.

Online Family History Repository

Sheikh Sultan observed electronic copies of some of the key publications used in the project at the launch event. These were works on the history and the genealogy of the Al Qasimi family.

What Sheikh Sultan Says About Family Ties

Sheikh Sultan addressed the gathering on the importance of maintaining family relationships and ensuring that your family is alive. He claimed that family bonds are also significant in creating a kind and united society.

He also discussed lessons in the Hadeath Shareef, where he said that maintaining family bonds was a blessing to life and that social bonds among generations were enhanced.

The ruler clarified that tracking lineage is not merely about recording names and family trees. He believes that it also preserves cultural identity and simplifies communication between the members of extended families.

Not Just A Family Tree

The platform will bring us one step closer to the traditional paper archives and one step closer to a digital knowledge system that constantly evolves. To ensure the safety of records and make them accessible later, developers created it using databases that can be expanded and include interactive multimedia and privacy features.

The family of Al Qawasim remains one of the most significant historical families in the Arabian Gulf. They have influenced the politics, economy and social life of the region over the generations.

The objective of the new platform is to ensure that history is not just stored in old books but also accessible to researchers, younger generations, and the general population.
