If you’ve ever watched Gordon Ramsay on TV and thought about sharpening your cooking skills, you need to book your tickets for Riyadh. The Gordon Ramsay Academy has officially opened in Riyadh, Saudi capital. It’s the first academy of its kind outside the UK. The new training centre brings one of the world’s most recognisable chefs into Saudi Arabia’s growing food and hospitality scene.
From Wellington To Sushi, Gordon Ramsay Academy Opens Its Doors In Riyadh
Located in the Narjis district, the academy has opened inside Narjis View Mall and is welcoming everyone from complete beginners to people who already spend a lot of time in the kitchen.
For many people, cooking classes can feel intimidating. But the academy says its programmes are designed for different experience levels, including home cooks who simply want to learn a few new techniques.
Not Just For Professional Chefs
The facility covers more than 1,000 square metres and includes several practical training kitchens, a demonstration space and areas where students can prepare ingredients before getting started.
At launch, the focus is on leisure classes. That means participants can sign up for sessions covering everything from Gordon Ramsay’s famous Wellington recipe to steak preparation, pasta making, baking, sushi and East Asian dishes.

Around 20 classes are expected to run every week from Tuesday through Saturday.
Turning A Hobby Into A Career
The academy intends to introduce professional training programmes and recognised culinary qualifications in the second phase. These courses will be aimed at people hoping to build careers in restaurants, hotels, catering businesses and the wider hospitality sector.
Students studying for professional qualifications may also eventually gain access to internships and job placements through industry partnerships.
