Khorfakkan Mango Festival Returns To Showcase Premium Local Produce, Contests & More

The Khorfakkan Mango Festival is returning for its fifth edition, bringing together farmers, families and fruit lovers for three days centred around one of the region’s most popular crops. The event will take place from June 26 at Expo Khorfakkan and is expected to showcase some of the finest mangoes grown across Sharjah’s Eastern Region.

Khorfakkan’s Mango Festival Is Back This June With Competitions, Cash Prizes & More

There will be competitions, prizes, family activities and dozens of locally grown varieties on display. For many farmers and producers, the festival is about much more than winning a competition. It’s a chance for them to show the produce they grow to visitors, connect with potential customers and show the hard work that goes into growing mangoes in the region.

Farmers Get A Chance To Show What They’ve Been Growing

The event has grown over the years from a seasonal get-together to a much bigger platform showcasing local agriculture. Visitors can expect to see a wide selection of mangoes, including premium varieties grown by farmers from across the Eastern Region.

Some Of The Biggest Crowds Gather Around The Competitions

The contests are usually among the most talked-about parts of the festival.

This year, organisers are bringing back several popular categories, including the competition for the most visually impressive mango, the largest mango and the best family-prepared mango basket.

Cash prizes will be awarded to winners. Also, the second day of the festival will include activities aimed at children as well as competitions focused on creative projects inspired by mangoes.

More Than A Festival About Fruit

While mangoes are the obvious attraction, organisers say the event also helps support local farming communities and creates new opportunities for growers to reach wider markets.

For many farmers, events like this can help increase visibility and encourage more people to buy local produce. The festival also adds to Khorfakkan’s reputation as one of the UAE’s significant agricultural destinations.
