The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has announced that it is launching a dedicated music institution. As announced by them on October 26th, this would be the new home of Youth Orchestra Abu Dhabi. It will open in January 2027 in the Mina Zayed District. Designed by the famous architect Frank Gehry, it would feature a 600-seat concert hall and 18 rehearsal and practice rooms. But the highlight of this opening is the fact that children will get free access to world-class musical training here.

Yes, as revealed by them, enrolment has already opened for the first batch of 100 students aged between six and nine. The programme would offer them training in both Western classical music and Arabic musical traditions. The aim of the initiative is to make high-quality music education accessible to young musicians.
Not to mention, it would create a long-term pathway for them to make their skills even better. It should be noted that the additional ensemble for advanced students is going to be introduced during the first year of the programme. Through free access to world-class music education programmes, the new institution will add another architectural landmark to the growing cultural landscape in Abu Dhabi.

In fact just recently, the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and institution Saadiyat Cultural District were also announced in the Saadiyat Cultural District. It should be noted that the Youth Orchestra Abu Dhabi Project is a part of the broader ambition of the emirate, which aims to establish itself as an international centre for arts, creativity, and music.
The institute would be the starting point for making music education accessible to young people. In fact, the free lessons would allow children who are interested in learning an instrument and playing as part of an orchestra to sharpen their skills.
So, with the institution opening in January 2027 at Mina Zayed, children will get a chance to learn music for free, allowing them to create a path for themselves in the field of music.
